NO SMOKING!

I took the kids to the Farmer's Market a week ago and we had a fun time looking at all the fresh produce and homemade crafts. The market is held at Pioneer Park which is home to many homeless men and women. As we were walking around Spencer was having a day full of chatter and curiosity. He kept asking why people were taking naps on the grass instead of their bed, and why there was a shopping cart at the park, etc. The questions kept coming as I tried to distract him from this new reality that not everyone has a home.

Spencer ran up to a homeless man who was minding his own business but was smoking and gave him the following speech:

Spencer: Don't smoke Jesus said it is bad for our body's. It will destroy you.

Mom: I am so sorry he is just learning about all kinds of new things and I am trying to teach him some house rules.

Stranger: Well.. I think he is right smoking will destroy my body.

Spencer: Mom, I was just telling him what Jesus told us!

Pretty cute! He is just learning so much and when I think that I am teaching to a very distracted 3 1/2 year old, he is actually picking up what I am saying! But, my next teaching moment was in the car explaining that everyone has their free agency and makes their own choices, we will see if that stuck in his mind before he scolds another innocent bystander. So be careful if you are doing something wrong Spencer will tell you to stop!

LAGOON

We took the kids for a fun day at Lagoon! Spencer could not get enough of the rides, he kept saying,"one more no two more." It was fun to watch him ride everything. Spencer has no fear and was more than willing and eager to go on the "BIG RIDES", He was the perfect height for some of them and he loved being a "BIG KID". Here goes Penny on the BAT! (Look how little he looks in those seats, do you think it's safe? Let's say mom was more scared for him than he was!)

About to get very wet! He loved it even though you couldn't tell from this picture!

Abby was such an angel, being so patient while we took Penny on rides and she had treats and all the attention from her mom!

BLUE MARKER NIGHTMARE!

Today my cute friend Darlene came over with her little girl to go to lunch and look at houses with me. We went to lunch and trying to avoid a bored three year old I brought him a coloring book and some pens. (I thought I was being a extra prepared and fun mom) Everything was going great until Spencer took out the blue pen and started to shake it around, it exploded everywhere. Here is my face after I spent 10 minutes cleaning it up in the bathroom. It got everywhere, on the walls of the restaurant, table, food, clothes and faces. It was bad and embarrassing. Darlene was a trooper she just laughed at me which was really what was needed in this situation. So, I will be spending some time scrubbing tonight to get the marker off. After a day like we have had today bedtime can't come soon enough! I am doing my best to grasp the idea that not every day is as bad, that tantrums will stop, kids will be tired and mom will get to sleep. So only 3 more hours until bed time I think I can make it:)
P.S. Todd I hope that you are enjoying LONDON, because we have had better days with less tantrums and less mess. We love you and can't wait to see you next week! D- Thanks for being such a great friend, Love ya!

FOR MY BABY!

Spencer went with me to go get the mail and when we got back indie the house he picked a flower with out me knowing. He sat down next to Abby and put it in her hair and gave her a kiss and said this is for you Baby! It was so precious and I had to grab my camera to catch the love in action! He really loves his baby Abby and equally Abby loves him. They are the best kids a mom could ever have! For all the long nights, sick kids, and tantrums when you see and feel the love of your children it makes everything worth it and hard times forgotten. Love you babies! XOXOX

PIONEER DAY

This year we had a calm 24th of July! The kids were getting over the stomach flu, so we took it easy! We took long naps and when everyone had enough energy we went to the Chimp movie. Spencer giggled and enjoyed every minute of it, and Abby slept through the whole show. We came home and did our own firework show in the back yard! The best thing about Pioneer Day is that we got to have Todd home with us! The kids loved being with him and I loved having Dad home to help and play with! Cute Abbers playing in the grass!
Mom and her babes!

The tough guys!

Spencer loved fireworks! We have done some almost every night. I love Sparklers and we got a ton so we can continue with the fun until the end of summer! Spencer thought it was so cool to hold the blue smoke bomb!
